TSH , T3 & T4 Test for pregnant Women

Hi,

I am 27 women from India. I am 12 weeks pregnant now after 5 years of marriage. Last month I had TSH , T3 & T4 Test done. Followings are the result for same.

TSH = 0.005 microIU/ml
T4 = 291.1 nmol/L
T3 4.24 nmol/L

Please let me know if this result are OK or any problem(my baby). If any problem then what is the Treatment. My Doctor didn't given any treatment for it. DO I need to take 3rd opinion. But I am worried that's why asking in this Forum.

Before pregnancy my TSH, T4 &T3 reports were normal.

I can understand your concerns. When I was pregnant with my youngest son, I had a thyroid problem. I started taking levothyroxine; which is classified as a very safe drug( Class A). The only reason why I am telling u this is because, I was afraid of my thyroid levels would be.

If you don't take your thyroid meds, as per the docs your child can have a chance of mental retardation. That's if you have a under active thyroid. I hope everything works out. Ask your doctor what those #'s mean. It doesn't seem as though, you will have any problems with those level u posted. You have to believe everything will be okay :-)

Hi,

Sorry for late reply. Following is the Normal Range i got in Report.

T3 = 1.18 to 3.40 mol/L
T4 = 57.6 to 161.3 nmol/L
TSH = 0.35 to 5.50 microIU/ml
