TSH and t4

Second lab work complete and little to no change in my levels.  Dr. raised my levo from 50mg to 75mg.  Nurse said that I did not need my T3 checked because I am on a synthroid and Dr. ordered just TSH and T4.  She said she's on levothyroxine like I am and T4 only needs to be checked if you are taking Armour or the like. Does this check out with you guys?  Or am I dropping my ball and need to get a specialist?

I agree with what she said.............don't assume that you convert properly.  They did that with me and they were wrong.........once I got FT3 tested by another doctor, I was put on T3 med, along with T4 med.........

No, no, no, it does not check out.  If they are not testing FT3, they are assuming (and you know what that does) that you are converting adequately.  Why would you assume that when you can test for it???  You can keep adding levo and have "perfect" FT4 levels, but still be very hypo if you do not convert an adequate amount of T3.

Can you post your labs, with ranges?  How are you feeling?
