Thyroid antibodies

Hi,

I suffered three miscarriages, before I was advised to check out my thyroid.  My panel appears normal, but my antibodies (thyroglobulin) is a little on the high side.  In barackets, the normal ranges as per my lab are enclosed for reference.  My TSH appears to be on the low side, which according the medical literature should indicate some  hyperthyroidism, however they think I am hypo.  I am a bit confused and would really appreciate some guidance.

Thyroglobulin antibody 196.6 (0-115)
Thyroid Peroxidase antibody 31.57 (0-34)
FT3 4.41 (4.0-8.3)
FT4 12.55 (9.0-20)
TSH 0.876 (0.27-4.7)

you are absolutely right.  I saw another Dr. today, and she told me that my elevated antithyroglobulin antibodies are very small compared to titers that are in the thousands.  They would prefer to put on tiny amount of thyroxine - simply because they would rather eliminate any potential that this might be a cause of miscarriage, although they are almost certain at these levels it isn't.

Your point about estrogen is very valid, and it was given to me a bit late during my latest pregnancy, as the levels started falling rather quickly with me.

I guess I have to keep trying and hope for the  best.

Thank you all for responding.

you might be wavering between hypo and hyper. one thing that can lead to miscarriages as well is when your progesterone/estrogen ratio is off. If your thyroid isnt the answer- then i would ask your doc is a bit of progesterone cream would help balance things out??!!

my TSH is at 0.5 and i feel great- and all my numbers for free t3 and freet4 are around the same areas as yours. i do have hashimotos and my anti bodies are in the 1000's this can never be changed- the docs just has to monitor me for possibly more thyroid meds in the future as the antibodies will probably "eat up" my thyroid hormones leaving none for my body to use

I wish someone had been bright enough to check out the anticbodies when I had multiple miscarriages and infertility problems right after that.

Your FT3 and FT4 indicate borderline Hypo.
Are you on any T4 meds?
Also did you mean anti-thyroglobulin or thyroglobulin?

I should also add, that while I am generally fatigued my weight has been falling dramatically and I lost around 15 pounds over six months
