neurological symptoms

What role does the thyroid play in peripheral nerve function? I have been having some problems with numbness and a hot/cold sensations in the right side of my body, as well as some other symptoms. I’ve had an unremarkable brain MRI and will have a cervical MRI in the coming week or so. I think that it’s a long shot that my thyroid is causing all of this, but I have seen it in other publications that indicate that the thyroid can play a role in neurological problems, specifically peripheral nerve. I just wanted to at least put the question out there.  I was dx’d with graves disease 10+ years ago and I’ve been on replacement meds and very stable for years.

Thank you:)
RR

I can't answer about the thyroid and nerve function, but have your vitamin B12 checked.  I went through all those tests too, to find that I have pernicious anemia.

Low b12 can cause the tingling, numbness, etc that you describe.  I'm on shots every 2 weeks to keep my levels up.  The symptoms are much less, but I'd had untreated pernicious anemia for so long that the doctor says I have permanent nerve damage.
