Hello,

hypothyroid means that her own thyroid is not working properly and is not producing enough thyroid hormone.

The solution to this is to take thyroid medication orally to replace the thyroid hormone that her body is not making.

This is very very important to her having a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Hope this helps.

Hellow,

if the test is TSH, the 13.54 is too high.  Target during pregnancy is range of 1 - 2.  She needs a large increase in her thyronorm.  Probably 50 mcg increase or maybe more.

Please ask her doctor.  It is very important to treat thyroid properly during pregnancy for the health of the baby.

Thyroid med is very necessary during pregnancy seeing she is hypothyroid.

Please also ask doctor to test FT3 and FT4.  These should both be in the top of the refernce range.  If not her meds need to be increased.

She should have blood test every 4 weeks of pregnancy and her medication will need to be increased.  This is normal during pregnancy.

Do not ignore this.  Please get expert treatment.
