Everyone reacts different to things. I believe some do, some don't. I did gain weight; however, I needed too. I was down to 88 due to my thyroid. I had the RAI, then had the TT.

I gained the weight after the TT, once I went hypo, I think I gained about 20-25 lbs at the most; stayed that way for about a yr, then I got my medications correct (after a yr.) & just started eating healthier.

This was about 17yrs ago, currently under weight at 107 (5'2, so NOT by much), but I do eat a lot healthier as I said. I was amazed how cutting out regular soda, & stopped eating fast food I dropped my weight pretty quickly. I am not a sweet eater either though, so that may help a lot, can't eat ice cream or have milk. I had gotten so burnt out of fast food. I do every now and then eat fast food, but far few & between....when we do go out to dinner or lunch, it is always grilled chicke, I love grilled chicked...

I have not had RAI, but I can tell you that you will eventually go hypo, of which one of the main symptoms is weight gain; however, it's possible that you won't gain weight, particularly if you eat well and get exercise.
