cortisol testing

Hi my name is kimberley and i was diagnosed five years ago with hypo. all of my thyroid levels are normal but im having joint pain, leg and neck twitching, headaches, and many other symptoms. i read thaty low cortisol may be to blame. how do i get tested for this? my doctor said that i have to be lying in the hospital in a coma to be tested. she also said it is only to rule out cushings. i know this is incorrect, but i cand seem to find someone to  do it. im only asking to be free of these debilitating sypmtoms. thank you!

A quick screening would be morning cortisol level, a simple blood test.  If this is low (or at low end of range), they would need to do additional testing.

Please post your thyroid levels here:
FT3
FT4
TSH

and we can look at these levels and give you our opinions. It could be that you have low cortisol or maybe you need to change your medication.

What medication do you take for your hypothyroidism and what dosage?
