I just returned from the ER, I suggest visiting the ER. I had many choking sensations, difficulty swallowing, irregualar breating, and finally went to the ER 2 years ago, that's when my enlarged thyroid was discovered.
But during the course of my thyroid issues, what helped me alot, was learning to relax. I think anxiety causes my throat muscles to swell up, lump in throat feeling, difficulty swalling etc.... Usaually when this happens, I just eat baby food or can soup, lay down and relax. It helps alot.
But if your feeling discomfort, I would visit the ER to find out what's going on. Hope you feel better.
If you cannot swallow, I would go to the ER.
I would go to the emergency room. It's better safe then sorry. Your airway could get blocked while you sleep. If you are having problems do not wait.
