nodule in sternum, is it thyroid related

Hello, I've been having discomfort around upper stomach and I felt a lump. Also, notice belching, nausea and my stomach would swell.  The Dr said it was a fatty nodule.  It bothers me everyday, Its a discomfort pain.  They finally did a US and the findings are:
Anterior to the sternum in the subcutaneous tissue there are 3 hypoechoic nodules ranging from 1.3 to 1.5cm.  These nodules are nonspecific. They could represent fibrous tissue.

Its crazy I think my body may produce nodules, I had them on my thyroid and got bigger so I had surgery 2 diff. time on my thyroid.
Is this something I should be concern of since there is discomfort there.

Thank you for the info.  Yeah, I had a fatty nodule taken off years ago in my side but, it took years to decide to do it. It was causing lots of pain and when they did surgery, the nodule was wraping around my muscle and he told me the pain makes sense now.
But, back to my stomach problems. He put me on Dicycomine 10mg. and then Aug 24th going down my throat. (forgot what it is called)
They seem no concern of the nodules so, I guess I won't worry then. lol
I really appreciate the info.

It's always difficult not to think the worst when it comes to nodules. Especially since you had them on your thyroid. You would be surprised to know that the body can have little nodules with no ill effect through out your life.
They are more than likely just causing you an uncomfortable feeling since they are in an area that is quite small and pressing on nerves.
If they are causing you lots of discomfort then you might ask to have them removed.
