should Hashis see a gastro?

Hey, I was wondering if any of you with Hashi have followed up with a gastro to see if hypothyroidism, constipation, etc... had damaged your intestines?

I saw gastros for three years before my Hashi diagnosis by an endo. I am wondering if I should do a follow up with a gastro now.

Any input would be appreciated.

:) Tamra

I have had bowel problems (mainly constipation) when hypo but it seems to 'right itself' once the TSH goes down.
Personally...if you was seeing a Gastro BEFORE diagnosis then a followup visit wouldnt hurt.
It all depends on whether you are having problems with the bowel...bleeding etc.

Ive had enough shoving , poking, pushing and stabbing with Docs the last few years to last a lifetime lol

My motto is...if it aint broken, dont fix it.
