In September I'll post all the conclusions, must go to the ENDO first (my first ENDO, the one that sent me to the hospital). But I'm sure of one thing, I felt bad (sick) when my TSH was 3.5, better when my TSH was 2.5, tired at 2.9 (so my TSH is going up and down). Four years ago I had my TSH 2.2.
I've already posted this in the community forum and expert forum, that's why I started to think it was thyroid related (everybody here helped me), and there are so many people here like me (TSH in "normal" lab range, old one, with symptoms and not medicated). The only confused thing in my case it was because my ANA's (anti nuclear antibodies) were too high for Hashimoto ((ENDOs don't ask for ANA's, they aren't specific for thyroid). Mixed with all these I had anemia, stress etc. My ENDO sent me to the specialist of autoimmune diseases in hospital (check the ANA's), and I did all the exams, came back negative last month, (on Monday I'm going to repeat my thyroid analyses). My appointment with my ENDO is in September (I trust him alot) , he doesn't know the results from the hospital (only thiroiditis). I feel much better know (got back to the gym), still easily tired.
I would post to those with Thyroiditis and Hashi's. I personally have no experience with either (TT for cancer in sept. '07) Both have their own treatments. I'm sure if you are having symptoms, you need some form of therapy, but I am not the one to inform you. This will bump and others with more info can comment.
My TSH when was 3.5, I felt so sick. I all started when I felt so tired, couldn't do exercise. I was in a period of stress, had anemia etc. So they thought my symptoms were because all this. My anemia was treated and I still was very tired, really felt sick, some kind of pannic attacks (kind of problems breathing in closed places). So Doctors found out I had Hashimoto (TPO higher then 1000) and positive ANAs (615). Doctors did all investigation for other autoimmune diseases and all came out negative, but confirmed thiroiditis. I felt much better, did my analyses and TSH came 2.55, one week later felt tired again and my TSH was 2.9 and free T4 1ng, little low normal range. So my TSH is floating a little, stress didn't help, but everything is thyroid related. Every 2 months I'm going to do analyses and perhaps in September if I still have symptoms and TSH near 3 they will give me some T4 (low dose, ).New normal lab ranges (American) for TSH are 0.3 -3. If you feel symptoms with TSH 3.6 is because it's not your normal TSH, the optimal TSH is 1-2, but this is just statistics.
3.6 could be perfectly normal for some people. Do you have symptoms?
