No, homeopathic treatment is not okay.  There is no cure for thyroid dysfunction.  It's treatable, not curable.  She should be taking thyroid hormones, and she can only get those by seeing a doctor and getting a prescription.  If her thyroid hormone levels are low, it's going to be difficult to impossible for her to lose weight.  Be sure her doctor tests her FREE T3, FREE T4 and TSH.  Those are the minimum tests that meds can be prescribed on.

If she has a thyroid problem she needs to see a doctor and go on medication if needed.  If you are hypoactive it is very hard to lose weight without the medication.

Is your mother hypothyroid?  Has she been diagnosed?

Is she taking thyroid meds?  If so, which and at what dose?

Does she have other symptoms besides weight gain?  Please elaborate on "bleeding less".

Do you have recent thyroid labs to post?  Please include reference ranges from her own lab report.
