i spoke with my doctor, who told me i have 3 thyroid complex cysts on the right side of my thyroid. he also mentioned somthing about calcium, didnt make sense. is there something i should be worrid abt? am waithing on my full results from the consultant. can sombody please help me with this. thank you.
The word cyst usually is not as alarming as some other terms but please let us know what the report states and what your doc says when you get full results.
Complex cysts are more of a concern than are fluid, are they going to do a Fine Needle Biopsy? How big are they? If they are 1 cm or more a biopsy could tell you more before you have the right side removed, but with microcalcifications, they may go right to removal. Microcalcifications are often a sign of cancer, but the only way they can be sure is to either do the FNA biopsy or take the whole side out and do a thorough biopsy. I don't know if in the UK you can ask for the biopsy before the surgery, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
thanks u. they have done fine needle biopsy but as i recall i dont remember the consultant telling me the results of it. all he dicussed was the scan results in which he said 2 of the cysts hav a small tumour and he mentioned somthing about walls within the cysts and microcalcification they are 1 .5cm in size. would you know of any other test that need to b done before the operation, i am quite scared of having this operation and i dont want the consultant to be missing anything. thank you for taking your time and repying to me.
Don't sweatSweat electrolytes test Sweat test Sweating Sweating - absent the operation if you have to have one, the surgery itself is not bad. If there are microcalcifications that large, I would have at least one side out to test for cancer. Just be sure your surgeon does a lot of thyroid surgeries, at least 40-50 a year. And get the results of the biopsy...
my ultrsound results showed that 2 of the 3 complex cysts are seen to contain multiple thin septations and the septations have dotted microcalcifications. there was no cervical adenopathy. does that indicate benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo or a malignat cysts? ? ? any1 answer this? much appreciated.
