thyroid disease

i had my (goiter)  thyroid removed when i was 21 now i'm 47 and wondering if the same warning applies to me.. the labels that say "do not take if you have hyper/hypo thyroidism disease"  will the medication affect me either way in a good or bad way ??? thank you for all your help... i'm tring to gain weight,  any suggetions.... i'm 121 lbs.

Have you had recent labs done?
I suggest a Free T3 and Free T4 test along with antibody testing to be done.

Weight loss is usually hyper.
