Hi,
My doctor has had me on Synthroid. From .5 to .300. I  have brain fog, I am so very tired, hair loss, dry skin, extreamly thin nails. My tsh is 00.004. It has been like that for 3 yrs now. I am unable to work. I am so tired. All the time.  Has anyone ever had this? My Doctor told me on last visit to find another doctor because he was stumped. I have had an thyroid scan in 2007, I have hashimotos.

OMG, where are you???  I'm in Sisters.

Wow, that's a huge jump from 300 down to 137.  Uh-oh, more questions!  How long since your dose was reduced?  Long enough to tell if your symptoms are coming back?

I can't comment much further without seeing FT3 and FT4.  Don't forget to get their reference ranges, also.  If your FT3 and FT4 are unchanged (since 2008?), and your TSH was 0.04 in 2008 and still is, and you've been on 300 mcg since the 2008 labs, then why did they lower your meds?  Are you feeling hyper?  TSH is the least important of the three basic thyroid tests.  FT3 is number one, followed by FT4.

Thats okay...I'm confused 24 hours per day (wink).  I WAS taking 300 mcg for about 18 months. Currently I am taking 137 mcg of Synthroid. My current labs are at the doctors office. I will have them monday. BUT.... they had called and told me that they were the same. No change.   They are concerned with the TSH 00.04.
Thanks for writing.... You don't have any idea how much this helps...just being able to talk to someone!

Sorry to keep asking more questions, but I'm still confused.  Are you taking 300 mcg Synthroid or 30 mcg?

Do you have the reference range on your FT4?

Are the 2008 labs your most recent labs?

What is your meds history?  How much Synthroid are you currently taking...I don't understand your reference to .5 and .300.

Has your free T3 and free T4 been being monitored as well as your TSH?  If so please post these numbers and their reference ranges so we can give you a better answer.
