Implantation or period?

I have had weird periods since I got off birth control, they are 28-30 day cycles but its very light.  All I really need are panty liners even overnight!  My Dr. said it was okay since it was consistent.  I had my last period the 12th of Nov. My hubby and I had intercourse during fertile time 20-25th.  Yesterday I started bleeding, it started off really light pink then it was brown. Today it is red!  Its not as much as my "light" periods but I do still need a pantyliner.  Could this be my period or could it be implantation bleeding.  My period is not due till the 9th of Dec.  I took a HPT yesterday and it was negative.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thank you.

Thank you for your response.  I greatly appreciate it.  I have been reading a lot of posts and they all say light pink to brown spotting.  I felt like I ovulated on the 24th as I had mild pain on my left side and the discharge was very thin.  I also calculated that it might be implantation but as of now I am still bleeding and its very red and the flow is like my period (light)  =(      Think I will retest when I was expecting my period on the 9th.  Thanks again for the information.

Implantation usually occurs 7-10 days after ovulation. If you know when you ov then you should be able to determine if this would be implantation time period for you.

The earliest I got + early pg test was at 10dpo.

Your period should occur 10-12 days (with little variation) after ov. If it occurs before 10 days then you might have a short luteal phase.

The luteal phase is the time after ov and before your period begins.  In most women, this is a set 10-12 days. The time period that varies for most women is from when af happens to ov. This is a pretty steadfast rule although a few women may vary from this.

So, at this point if I am calculating correctly, could be implantation.  You may want to test again in a few days since if implantation just occurred there might not be enough hcg for your particular pg to test for. Just make sure you get a very sensistive test if you are testing this early, which I am sure you already did.

Good luck!
