A related discussion,
dizziness nausea was started.
Does the metal from retainers and braces count as mercury poisoning, or is that just plain metal?
And I'm also 18 years old, and have been experiencing symptoms such as what most all of you said. I think most of the anxiety came from my dizzyness. My mind would start turning at all the possible bad stuff that would result from such bouts of dizzyness, and I'd get even more anxiety. recently, because of what I believed to be my asthma I got really dizzy for no apparent reason, and till now, atleast a month+ I've continued to have dizzyness, and I am always lethargic and wake up feeling so sore from my back to my legs like I didnt even sleep at all and want more sleep. I took the blood tests, and heart examnation and lung exams and everything checked out. I've started to take Zoloft just today because, of course, Im prescribed with anxiety/depression like everyone else here. I know it is anxiety because heck, it came from the dizzyness!! In those cases, doctors are really frustrating.
By now, I'm just waiting to see if zoloft works, and that takes atleast 6 months. Maybe I should check with chiropractor as well because my neck is extremely sore. My heads always heavy and I feel groggy all the time, cant focus because I get dizzy.
Partly, I have a feeling because its due to starting college, and not having the old high school everyday 7 classes then home schedule, plus no time with friends and being social so, sigh.
Opinions??
I have finally been diagnosed because of my dizziness and am writing because it may relate to one of you. It turns out that my dizziness comes from mercury poisoning from the silver fillings in my teeth! I especially felt dizzy while eating and it would last most of the day. Sometimes it is even hard to move my arms and legs. Sometimes they feel numb. Mercury poisoning from something as simple as from your own mouth, can lead to alot of health problems.
Any of you have silver fillings in your teeth?
Do you have fatigue or stomach problems? These symptoms could be gluten sensitivity/Celiac Disease. Are you sensitive to chemicals?

yes I've had dizzy spells due to anxiety. If you're like me you like an actual explaination for the things you are feeling though. They are not in your head they are real but they are caused by anxiety/depression.
I think the actual physical cause is from breathing from your upper chest. When you get tense your muscles can go into spasm and this leads to chest tightness and then you start breathing from the wrong place. This can lead to tingling, lightheadedness etc. from constant mild hyperventilation. I also used to feel a tightening around my head like if you've been wearing a hat and it is removed. also, like a buzzing feeling in various spots.
Also, if you're anxious or depressed you may not be eating regularly or sleeping well and they cause some of the symptoms too. Anxious people also seem to use up energy quickly (probably by tics: nail biting, jiggling etc.) so sometimes the symptoms are blood sugar related.
If you do try SSRI medications remember they will take a few weeks (3or 4 ) to work so don't give them up if they don't help in a few days. In fact they sometimes make you worse for the first week or more. They worked well for me though, changed my life, unfortunately they weren't available when I first had a problem.
Life changes are tough and everyone reacts differently. you're so young, there is such a lot of exciting living to do. Good luck.
what does the dizziness feel like?
Well I saw a docter and she perscribed me 5mg twice a day of BuSpar. She says the dizziness is all due to axeity. So, does anyone eelse have these chronic dizzy spells due to anxeity?
Have you gone to see a therapist? I started to get panic attacks when I graduated. Life changes can bring them on even if you don't think they are effecting you. It may seem cheezy to talk about what may seem like nothing. But it might work well.
