Aching, gnawing feeling in legs -- not pain

I'm fairly active. I'm used to sore muscles. This is something
different and worse. Since Tuesday night -- and more noticeably since
Wednesday -- I've had an achy feeling in both thighs. It's not pain,
but it feels like gnawing weakness. It's so severe that I can't sleep
or work. Tuesday night I'd exercised
particularly strenuously -- focusing on the lower body -- but the symptoms didn't seem
to kick in intensely until Wednesday, after I'd taken a Benadryl for
my awful headache. I couldn't sleep despite it. What might be relevant
is that six days ago, on Saturday, I did something I haven't done in a
while -- drank Robitussin. Not the wisest thing, I know, and I
suffered gastrically from it (it never used to hurt me!). The next day
I took an Immodium (probably *not* relevant, as it only acts on the
stomach). Anyway, I'm scared that working out hard a couple of days
after messing with my neurochemistry might have led to chronic
tendonitis or myalgia and hoping this isn't a possibility. My doctor
didn't know what to say, but is optimistic things will resolve soon.
They seem to be getting worse, though... Anyone have any insight or
guesses?

I agree with Macy - sounds like restless leg syndrome,  brought on by Robotussin.
