hello guys,
I had my MRI done for ( LUMBO-SACRAL spine) and screening of DORSAL SPINE.
The following observations were made:
- Marginal osteophytes are seen in the lumbar vertebrae
- Minimal scoliosis of the lumbar spine is noted with convexity to the right side.
- Tiny schmorl's nodes are noted along the end-plated of D12 to L3 vertebrae
- L2-3 to L4-5 discs appear degenerated.
- L4-5 disc shows mild to moderate generalized posterior bulge with postero-central herniation, more on the left side, mildly compressing the thecal sac, left L5 nerve root and encroaching the neural foramina, partocularly on the left side. Extruded disc material appears isointense to the parent disc on all pulse sequences, causes obliteration of the adjacent anterior epidural, left L5 peri-neural fat-planes with a prominent filling defect and cut-off of the left L5 newrve root sleeve on MR Myelo sequence. Associated granulation tissue is likely.,
- There is mild generalized posterior bulge of L2-3 and L3-4 discs with impending postero-central herniation at these levels, indenting the thecal sac and minimally enchroaching the neural foramina causing prominent filling defects on MR
- Minimal posterior bulge of L5-S1 disc is noted.
- Early lumbar spondylosos and minimal scoliosis.
- Tiny schmorl's nodes along the end-plates of D12 to L3 vertebrae.
Thanks for your previous assistance. Now with these, can you tell me "something" that is happenign to me. The doctor I visited with this result, was hardly helpful.
Thanks!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I suggest you consult another gastroenterologist to rule out IBS, Crohn’s and celiac, all of which can cause along with gut symptoms, joint aches, especially intervertebral joints and large joints.
Take care!
Hi...may I suggest u see a NL (neurologist) to have ur spine assessed.....u should have a full spine MRI to rule out nething else such as tethered cord which could be the cause of ur mild scoliosis....but stomach issues including bowel and bladder issues can also be a problem with this condition.
Even the balance issues can indicate yet another issue, but that is getting ahead of ourselves....find a good NL in ur area, ask for a MRI of ur cervical spine right down to ur lumbar, including the thoracic....to see what is going on.
Be advised not all drs will recognize all the issues u may have going on, so I also suggest u request copies of all testing, MRI's and the reports so u can more easily get a 2nd opinion.,
Good luck and post an update : )
