Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Waves of shock followed by head and neck tingling can be due to compression of upper cervical spinal nerves. Another possibility is postural hypotension or blood pressure falling with change of position (like from sitting to standing). Hypoglycemia and GERD can be other causes. It can also be due to compression of facial nerve. Please consult an internal medicine specialist and your PCP immediately.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
It looks like online there are a number of reasons you can have tingling and that you should work with a doctor to identify the underlying condition. I used to get a shocking feeling when I turned my neck sustaining a severe sprain to it due to whiplash in a car accident.
I have experienced tingling in my head and was told by a neurologist that it was muscle spasm. Because of waves of shock along with tingling, you might ask your doctor if a referral to a neurologist is in order. See also PM.
