"Band-like" Indentation

I have a "band-like" indentation on my upper right thigh and was recently given an MRI which returned results of no clear evidence of abnormality in that leg. They did notice a mild edema on the left femur, but I was notified that isn't uncommon and not to worry. I am being refered to a surgeon for the upper right thigh. I am wondering what could be causing this indentation if the MRI didnt show any tumors or growths, which is great news. Any info is appreciated, as I am just curious as to what is going on and unsure when the appointment with the surgeon will be scheduled.
Thank YOU!

My brother currently has an indentation on his upper leg but that was from an injury causing a hematoma.  I guess it's all scar tissue, etc now.  ??

I had the same exact thing and had MRI which showed nothing. Had the leg ultrasound which showed nothing. Dermatologist did a skin biopsy on the leg and it showed subcutaneous lipoma. He said to watch it for a while and see if it gets worse.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Try a vascular specialist. Deep vein thrombosis or faulty valves of deep veins can cause localized edema resulting in an indentation in the middle. It can be diagnosed by a duplex ultrasound or color dopplar.
Hope this helps. Take care!
