Blood in feces--HELP! What is happening?!?

Today when I used the bathroom, I noticed a slight red tint in the toilet water. My feces did not appear to be discolored or anything, but when I flushed the toilet, I saw that the red tint was indeed blood (it swirled around when the toilet flushed).
The blood could have been in my urine, but I urinate on a fairly regular basis and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it in the past.
More information: I am not an active person, and my appetite is probably below average in size. For a while, I have defecating usually once every two days, which I know is not normal. Because of my obsession with school, I am often very stressed, and I don't get enough sleep (I usually go to bed between 11:00 and 12:00 and get up at 6:30). I sometimes have stomachaches at night, but in the past I chalked most of them up to stress. I occasionally take a dramamine pill to stop the stomachaches if I can't sleep. I'm a boy, so it isn't my period or anything. I'm sixteen years old.

Hello~It sounds like either haemorrhoids or anal fissures. My doctor once told me they do not worry when it is fresh and bright red.  If it doesn't clear up on its' own, I would see your physician, he/she will give you some cream to administer and this should help the problem you are having.

Hi,

I agree with Lightseeker. It is most likely hemorrhoids. Blood on feces is not as concerning as blood in feces. Blood in feces may turn it very black and very tarry looking. Wiping and seeing blood is seldom concerning. Just make sure you clean well, as hemorrhoids are open wounds and you do not want to get an infection. Sometimes gastric and bowel bleeds cause constipation. With those you should see the black tarry feces.

Watch your diet. Eat more fiber and eat a well balanced diet. Be relieved that you are not starting your period. ;)

It might be a simple case of  Hemorrhoids or Anal fissure,
but if it continues and it does not resolve soon on its own, then only a healthcare professional can assess your situation and suggest a treatment.
Try not to worry about it too much, it does not sound like a life threatening event and most people go though this at least once in their lifetime.
Best wishes,
Niko

How long would it persist for before I should worry?

Today, I had a stomachache and was a bit nauseous. I also had almost no appetite, although this may have been due to stress. Does that information indicate anything else?
