Bump on back of ear

I noticed a large "bump" or knot on the back of my 3 year old's ear. She had her ears pierced 2-3 months ago, but no problems. The other ear is just fine. It does not look like the ear piercing is infected. The "bump" is not warm, skin color....maybe a little pinkish, but no fever or anything. She says that it does not hurt. The "bump" is on the back of the ear lobe, but it feels like it might go onto the head as well. It seems very firm, with a little "give" towards the center. I am going to call the pediatrition asap, but they aren't open until monday and its friday night. Is there anything that you can tell me? I am very concerned and worried. (Oh, she has been complaining about her eyes hurting...I don't know if that has anything to do with this.) Thank you!

Thank you for replying! I have taken her earrings out just incase that is what it's from. I am cleaning it 2 times a day with alcohol and watching very closely. Today it has been pretty red and I've seen her grab at it, but she still says that it does not hurt. I am hoping that it fixes itself, but if not then we will be at the pediatrition on monday. Thank you again for replying.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If the swelling is not painful, then it could be eczema, dermatitis, or lipoma (localized collection of fat). This could be making the area sensitive and your little one must be feeling this as eye hurting. It could also be cellulitis or infection just below the skin. It is difficult to comment without examination. However since the swelling is not painful, leave it  as such until you can consult your child’s pediatrician.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
