Candidiasis is a fungus sometimes referred to as Thrush.
Sorry to hear that you have a viral/bacterial infection now as well.
Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and take pain relief medication as prescribed. Hot water with honey and lemon is very soothing.
So as to make it difficult for you to get the fungal infection again once you are clear of it, follow the advice I wrote in my previous message. But also cut down or avoid sugary products. Candida loves sugar.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thank you for your responses. I have been too see a doctor today who says I have candidiasis. I also have a temperature now and feel pretty bad but she says it's unrelated.
Not sure what that is but definitely sounds like it needs to be checked especially in that area. Signs of stds May not appear for months, I hope that's not it but kinda sounds like it. Good luck
You should really be seen by a doctor.
If you are not able to get to see a doctor, you can apply natural set yogurt (Greek style yogurt is fine) to the cleaned area. Do not use any soap or shower gels; no feminine sprays, these change the pH level on your skin and make is prone to Thrush.. You can bathe the area in some warm water with some salt or oats. Pat the area dry gently and then apply the yogurt. Doing this in the evening and before going to bed is better as it can get a bit messy, hence using the set yogurt is preferred. The yogurt is very good and will ease the soreness and help to lessen the skin inflammation and aid healing. You can also apply it into your vagina. Yogurt is also helpful if you get sunburn. You will be amazed how helpful it is.
A very sugary diet and taking antibiotics can also cause Thrush. You can get thrush in other parts of the body and also in the mouth and throat.
Only use a non-biological washing detergent, wear cotton underwear and avoid tights and tight trousers.
Wipe your bottom from front to back. If you do suffer from diabetes, ensure that you control sugar levels.
If you are able to get to a chemist or pharmacist, you can buy Fluconazole 105mg, a one dose oral capsule that you swallow with a glass of water (read the directions that come with the medicine).
You can also buy Canesten or Canesten HC from the chemist.
Make an appointment to see your doctor when you come back from holiday, if it is too difficult to see a doctor whilst you are on holiday. The doctor can take a swab to identify the fungus/bacteria and prescribe the appropriate medication. He may also prescribe you with some moisturising emollient or bath emollient to help your skin not to crack.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I would not treat this for thrush! What you are describing sounds like herpes. Even though you are not sexually active, herpes can lie dormant in your body for years. You said "no change of discharge". If you have discharge, you definitely need to go to the doctor and get on antibiotics. It will only get worse if you don't. I ended up with meningitis one time and herpes was the cause. I never even knew I had it. A lot of people walk around with it, not even knowing. So ease your mind and see a doctor.
