Am I paranoid or is something really wrong?

I was driving today and the tip of my middle finger completely lost sensation. It felt as though it had been numbed for surgery (I had ankle surgey not long ago and it was the same feeling. I thought maybe it was falling asleep but I slowly lost feeling to the rest of my fingers through the top of my hand. My fingers would barely move. This lasted for about 7-8 minutes and I've had the feelin ever since. I don't have the greatest vision but I have always been able to see the computer screen and things right in front of me. Now I am seeing bright spots everywhere that I look.. I have even had a lot of trouble just watching what I'm typing here.... Is this something to be concerned about or do I just need to rest? I'm really worried and confused, especially about my vision at this point. Please help me!

Hello,

I hope this writing finds you feeling better.  I experienced spots in my eyes when I had a sinus infection and when my blood pressure was elevated.

Have you considered raynaud's phenomenon?  It can cause finger numbness due to changes in temperature or even stress.  If you find your finger becomes very pale or red it might be it.  Check it out on line.  Mine was able to be treated with a calcium channel blocker prescribed by my doctor.  Hopefully, it isn't a cervical issue.  I have experienced that due to neck trauma.  If this is the case, I agree with Kinnd that a neurologist would be beneficial.

If your insurance doesn't go for specialists, I'm sure your family doctor could order the tests needed and refer you to a specialist if necessary.

Best wishes to you.  Don't give up.

Hi,

I think there’s definitely some problem. I sincerely feel you should consult a neurologist and get yourself examined in detail as I don’t think this should be taken casually. There’s a possibility of something in brain which is causing all these problems which could be an abrupt cessation of blood supply to the brain, some growth pressing on the structures of the brain. I think maybe your doctor will ask you to get an MRI done of the brain in view of your complaints.

I sincerely hope that helps.

Please do keep me posted. Best Regards.
