CHEST PAIN

Recently I have been experiencing the following symptoms:

Chest pain on the left side
Stiff neck and shoulder on the left side
Intermittent ache between the breast and front shoulder blade (left side)
Numbness in the left arm to the fingers
Difficulty turning my head to the left
Chest pain comes and goes

Am I in the promodal stage of a heart attack? I just turned 50, 5'5", 190-195lbs, non-smoker and currently take Cozaar 25 mg and Indapamide 2.5 mg for blood pressure.

Can you tell me what these symptoms are indicative of?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Any chest pain is cardiac in origin unless proved otherwise. Chest pain can happen because of gastrointestinal causes like GERD, esophageal spasm, peptic ulcer disease, psychogenic like anxiety and depression, neuromusculoskeletal like thoracic outlet syndrome and costochondritis, pulmonary like pulmonary embolism and involvement of pleura and cardiac causes. EKG, stress test and Stress echo need to be done to rule out any cardiac cause.

Once cardiac causes are ruled out, then the other causes need to be probed. GERD or gall bladder disease may be responsible for such pain for which ultrasound gall bladder and an endoscopy test are needed. A CT chest may also be ordered to rule out any pulmonary cause. A physician will be the best person to consult in this regards.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Yes it could very well be the onset of an acute MI (heart attack) or unstable angina (chest pain). With your age, BMI, and history of high blood pressure it can only be ruled out by the appropriate tests done by a physician. I would schedule an appointment asap
