Hi
A lymph node is a part of the lymphatic system that tries to capture that infection. In the process it swells due to proliferation of infection fighting cells. If there is no fever, the infection will be warded off by the lymph node. This may remain swollen for variable period of time.
HIV is ruled out. Cancers like lymphoma too ruled out by ultrasound and blood tests. You should worry only if the size increases, there is pain, change in color or if the lump bleeds. Also if more lymph nodes appear, please consult your doctor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Thanks for your replay,

the thing i had bilateral cervical lymph node in my neck, tiny to small less than 10mm ,painless and not warm and no redness around the skin and tender for almost one month. and the last time i got sorethroat 2-3 months before.
my doc advice me to do ultrasound the report says no significant cervical lymphadenopathy normal size lymph nodes with some fatty hila change.size less than 10 mm.
and found solitary left thyroid nodule. 7.9 mm.

i asked my doc if lymph node related to thyroid , he told me no. and he advise me to do viral profile test. Hepatitis + Herpes+ TB+ CBC+ Lpid profile + monospot + mono....
and radio scan for thyroid but the result after 3 days.

I was afraid it could be HIV or STDs cause the last and the only sex intercourse protected was 3 months before.
I did in STDs clinic 3months hiv anti bodies test (MEIA) and Hepatitis C&B +ghonorea+herpes and syphlis and other stds. All came NEGATIVE.
then i tested HIV at 4 months and 4.5 also came negative.i asked dr. Teak in HIV prevention forum he told me that my hiv NEG test is conclusive.

So from my CBC count i couldnt find significant abnormal changes which indicate infiction as viral.
My question is why i have the lymph node and no other symptoms like fever or ...?
And i dont have symptoms of thyroid as nervous or weight loss. i feel completely fine.
Dr What is your suggestion for my case?
