Can someone please help?

About a month ago I was down with mild sinus related symptoms when I also discovered that I had slightly raised temperature (about 99.3 F). The other symptoms got better in the next 2-3 days and within a week I felt completely normal. However, my body temperature continued to fluctuate between normal to 98.8 and 99.3. The temperature is always within the range during late night, morning and even sometimes until afternoon, but as soon as I do anything slightly physical, like walking for sometime, going out for something or even moving within the house and eating etc it starts rising again. Then, as soon as I rest particularly in an air-conditioned room, the temperature comes back to normal again within 20 minutes (sometimes it takes a little longer, but not more than one hour). Today, I did an experiment: I didn't go to work and woke up late. My temperature was fine. As soon as I left my air-conditioned bedroom and helped my family with some chores it rose again. I went back to my room and relaxed for 20 minutes and it came back to normal.

The highest my temperature has risen to is 99.6.

A little about my general health: I am overweight and I have recently been diagnosed with a fatty liver. My liver enzymes are quite raised (SGPT: 228, SGOT: 174). I have tested for Hep C and B and fortunately both came back negative. So my Doctor has advised me to take some supplements and lose weight. He thinks that if I lose around 25 Kgs of my weight, my liver enzymes will come back to normal. He, however, stresses, that my temperature has nothing to do with my liver. Apart from this, I am apparently fine.

I hope someone here can advise me as to what tests I should do to find out this irregularity and fluctuation in my body temperature which doesn't seem to be normal.

Thanks

no problem i dont quite under stand your height but you are 202lbs and he wants you at 150lbs basicly right. Now I'm going to tell you something your doctor probably didnt because I am also trying to lose weight and i weigh 240 now but about three weeks ago I was at 255 or so and i want to get to 200 so we are in the same boat btw I am 5'10"  but something that will help you is DON'T LISTEN TO BMI it is wrong so wrong and that is what your doctor figures your final weight on but if you are like me you dont only need to loose fat to get t your weight you will also have to loose muscle mass. I'm fat and i can easily leg press 700lbs i have mean legs and alot of muscle that is why i figured out that I can probably only get down to 200 instead of 180 so take that into account. And to loose weight your best bet there is a guy on youtube that can help you out look up "Total Body Performance" I have been taking his advice and that is how I have gotten the results I have.

good luck

Thank you very much for your reply. It really makes sense what you say. In fact a herbalist I met recently said exactly the same thing that my raised temperature was the result of my weight. By the way, I am 5'4.5 and weigh about 92 kgs. My doctor has asked me to lose at least around 20 to 25 kgs.

I have reduced my food intake seriously and have increased my water intake.  I will go for a liver function test soon. My last test was done about a month ago.

Your response has helped. I hope I can lose weight quickly but without causing any harm to my body.

Good luck to you as well!

All things in the body have a certain level of relativity to each other however mineut they may be. But basicaly the bodys temperature is controled by the diencephalon with is comprised of th thalimus and the hypothalimus the thalimus is like a post office for the brain and the hypothalimus is the homeostatic control center .... but how overweight are you if you don't mind me asking because think about it, in the body excess temperature created buy movement enviroment ect. has to be expelled by the body and the extra weight you carry is extra effort to move creating greater heat and then if that wasn't enough it also makes an incredible insulator impeeding heats escape. So I beleive that your issues possibly all stem from your weight imparement. If you need any help let me know as i am also trying to loose weight, I started off at 255lbs aand in 3weeks am down to 240lbs and all I do is lift a little set of weights and do jumping jacks, oh and watch how much I eat not what I eat whatever I want just in moderation.
