Chest/back pain

Hi I had a question. I get this aweful pain in the middle of my chest and it goes into my back. It feels like someones twisting my insides right there and I wanted to know what that could be? If its serious or if its something not to really worry about.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A chest pain of this type and intensity should be investigated immediately either at an ER or in a cardiologist's care. You need urgent 12 lead EKG. Depending on its results, you may need ECHO, stress test, and angiogram. Also heart enzymes will be done.
Other than this it can be a pulmonary embolism, if you have breathlessness as well.
At times structures in the abdomen can also cause pain in the chest. These are pancreatitis, gall bladder stones and hiatal hernia. Coexistence of two or more conditions is possible such as acidity with GERD along with gall bladder stones. The former will cause referred pain to left shoulder and the latter will cause pain in the right shoulder.
Please rule out cardiac causes first immediately. Then you can consult a PCP if all cardiac causes are ruled out. Take care!

You don't mention how old you are, but gall bladder problems can cause pain like you describe.  You may want to see a doctor to see if that is the problem.

Could be heart related...panic attacks..Gallbladder attack. You need to seek a Dr to do some tests...cardiac stress test .blood tests and ultrasound of gall bladder. These tests would narrow it down. Remember pain is your body's alarm system that something is wrong!
