Concerning symptoms that mimic lymphoma B symptoms

26 yo female 5'7" 125 lbs. I've been having symptoms such as easy bruising, night sweats, water retention, itching skin (mainly neck and ankles/lower legs), extreme fatigue, bone pain, etc. for the past 5 months. I've seen my primary care dr and had blood work and a urinalysis. Kidneys were definitely impaired, (eGRR 68-78, creatinine 1.1+). Both WBC and RBC high in urine, and no infection found. Platelets and RBC in blood work were fine, WBC was on the lower side. My Dr is downplaying all of this and making me feel like I'm over reacting, but the symptoms are really impacting daily life. He admitted that these are B symptoms of cancers such as lymphoma, but no referrals or additional tests have been ordered. Any advice would be very appreciated!

No, a blood cancer is not likely at all.

- when a blood cancer causes easy bruising, it's because the platelets have gone low, which is not so in your case
- "Both WBC and RBC high in urine, and no infection found", then that's almost certainly 'sterile inflammation'
- "B symptoms"are not specific to lymphoma, because non-cancer B-lymphocytes can be *reacting* to something
- your lymphocytes are not high, but the relative 45% is high just because your neutrophils are low - possibly because of some inflammatory process.
- "My Dr is downplaying all of this and making me feel like I'm over reacting".  The doc is wrong, the doc should be concerned with finding the cause.
----- at this point, your cause seems to be inflammatory, not cancer. However, if you are very, very worried about lymphoma, then the next step is an ultrasound of the nodes - which will anyway very likely show being 'reactive', not cancerous. An US is relatively low cost, too.

The worst possibility might be lupus, with lupus nephritis (and mild neutropenia). So you'd want to see if that can be ruled out.

Is your urine frothy? If so, you should not delay. I don't want to alarm you unnecessarily, but I wouldn't delay.

Do you have a family history of unusual immune conditions? Any odd personal medical conditions from an early age? Didn't any doc do an ANA blood test????????

-- "did not have a period 2 months ago at all"
That can make us think of some hormonal cause, but then again lupus can create hormone imbalances.

Lupus (the disease of a thousands faces) can do many different things, including causing inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis), which can make them more fragile and prone to damage/bruising.

Lupus is most common in women of childbearing age.

Please post back soon if you get the ANA test. It's a common test, not that expensive. I can't believe no doc did that - for starters.

Hopefully you have some much more mild inflammatory condition, not lupus.

I'm assuming you have no extreme diet and no profound nutritional deficiencies.

Hello you mentioned lymphoma.. do you have swollen lymph nodes? Because that's a classic symptom of lymphoma I think you should push for a Flow cytometry test .. it's a test to help diagnose and classify leukemia or lymphoma and other diseases.  Are you
lymphocytes high? Post your CBC If you get the chance.

I have had some swollen lymph nodes, yes. One in particular has been swollen for a couple of months, in the area sort of under my right ear/next to my jaw bone. I've also had some under my chin that have felt a little swollen for a while.
WBC: 3.8, Platelets: 292, RDW: 12.8, HGB: 12.6, RBC: 4.9, absolute neutrophils: 1.6 (41%) , absolute lymphocytes 2.2 (45 %) Clotting/coagulation were within normal range. Percentage of lymphocytes in total blood volume flagged as being high.

I don't know what to think. It could be something going on with my kidneys, not necessarily lymphoma. The Lymphoma B symptoms just seem to line up with what I am experiencing. There were 9 WBC and 5 RBC in my urinalysis results, plus a low eGFR and higher creatinine.

My Doctor just seems to contradict himself and brush all of this off. Especially now that I am not having regular periods, it's concerning to me. I will ask about the flow cytometry test, thank you!

Also did not have a period 2 months ago at all, and this past month very minimal spotting but no real period.
