Confused and need help

Greetings!!

I need some help here. I have been having a chronic problem off and on throughout my life. I am frustrated, because the doctors cannot seem to figure it out. It went so far as to be offered an antidepressesnt (I am not depressed), because they didn't believe me.  I am a 37 yr old male.

Here are a number of my symptoms:

Mouth: I get ocassional get sores in my mouth, my mouth is consistently dry, and I have the beginnings of Gum Disease

Eyes: I have dry and itchy eyes… feels like allergies, but wasn't sure if any of it is related.

I get acid reflux. Often times waking up with stomach acid in my mouth. I have difficulty swallowing. Lately, I have been having fits where I am falling asleep and I begin choking on my saliva.

I have nausea, constipation, pain in lower right ab, diarrhea, and a radiating pain in my side. Also, in my lower right ab (My belly button to my lower ab) I get a lot of burning feelings and then it turns to pins and needles to a stapping feeling.

I was told that I could have possible gilbert syndrome (which messes with the production of bile)

I was told that my spleen is mildly enlarged

I get headaches, feel disoriented or dizzy, my thinking becomes clouded and I have a hard time focusing

I often times feel tingling in my fingers and toes and my joints hurt a lot

There are times when I feel my muscles weak. I also have extreme fatigue at times.

There is also frequent unrination.

The Docs have done a number of test. I have had CT, X_Ray Fluroscopy, Endo, and a Colonoscopy. They have not been able to determine anything from them. They said I had H-pylori. I took the antibiotic regime. I no longer have H Pylori, but my symptoms are all still here. I have had a number of bloodwork done, but they have come back all normal. I did have Low Testosterone, but I have been taking the replacements to no avail.

I am frustrated. My PCP doesn't really believe me, and refuses to refer me to anyone else. My GI Doc will refer me to either a Rhuematologist or a Nuerologist. However, He doesn't know what's wrong either.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

I would seriously suggest looking into Lyme disease as a possibility here. Lyme disease is a really big epidemic right now that is being overlooked.  It can cause all the symptoms that you have and it tends to mimic the symptoms of MS, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Lyme disease goes misdiagnosed most of the time and undiagnosed as well

I know from personal experience and I have known MANY people who had the same issues and it ended up being Lyme disease. The doctors all thought I was crazy too and kept acting like I was crazy. It was very irritating because my symptoms were very real!

There's a great Lyme disease section right here on Medhelp, go and post there.  There's many helpful people on there!

Thank you for the reply!!

I am currently H-Pylori free (Confirmed through a stool test). The burning and stabbing happened around the time I became free of the bacteria.

My sister has Sjogren's and Systemic Lupus. My mother (and several others in my family) has RA (Rhuematiod Arthitis). I also have a firest cousin with MS.

The messed up thing is the basic ANA testing all came back negative.

They did find a small hiatal hernia.

Thank you again for the reply!

I am so sorry your doctor will not listen to you. I have some of your some of your symptoms like dry eyes and mouth, and it could be an autoimmune disease (when your body makes autoantibodies that attack your own body), like Sjogren's disease, which also  makes you very tired.

My doctor also did not believe y symptoms, of leg pains and now (years later) I am figuring out that my symptoms are from vascular disease.)  So keep doing research and posting on MedHelp for answers.

I had H.Pylori, and I know how it makes your stomach burn inside.  The antibiotics helped me, than about a year later my stomach pain returned.  I wonder if you  might have a hiatal hernia (stomach protruded into the esophagus.)

I don't know what the pain in your abdomen could be...but was the CT scan of that area?  I suggest it could be a  ulcer in the colon?

Did your doctor do a stool test to see if you still have H.Pylori? That is the test that will show if the bacteria is still in your body.

If you can get referrals to a rheumatologist.  MY advice is to let him the doctor decide what he wants to test you for, then ask about Sjogren's, if he does not mention  it.  Because doctors do not like patients to ask questions and when doctors settle on ONE specific condition to test for, they exclude all other possibilities!!!  I know...I speak from experience.

I think you should get tested for Sjogren's and possible autoantibodies:
