See another Neuro, get a second opinion, if it's been more than 3 months since the last MRI then get another one. This may help in finding something they've overlooked, but the cold hard truth is this. Migranes that have lasted for 10 years are probably not connected to type of brain condition. The possibilities that this can include are allergic, chemical, neck or back discs, pinched nerve another unlying condition or just unexplained migranes. Many people suffer from unexplained migranes that no medications can help and they do feel like they are dying and in some cases takes over much of their life. An underlying condition can apply if there are any other symptoms that you are experiencing such as: blurred vision, various other pains, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, bowel or bladder problems, insomnia, muscle aches and the list goes on. To tell the doctor that is your only symptom will always result in diagnosis of migranes when tests come back normal and migranes are difficult to treat. I'm assuming you've had more than one eye exam since these migranes began. That's usually the first reason for migranes at age 10, need glasses and if that was done repeatedly over the years then we move on to.... are there any other symptoms that you can think of? What are you doing prior to the migranes occurring? Do you drink caffeine beverages or indulge in chocolates? Do they occur at night, day or both? Do you watch alot of tv, spend alot of time on the pc or read alot? Are you surrounded by a stressful home life? What kind of drugs do you take, over the counter, prescription or illegal? Answer these and I can try to help you determine an underlying cause, condition or factor. Hope to hear back from you.
no i dont drink diet soda or use artifical sweeteners but i will check it out
Do you drink diet sodas or use artificial sweeteners? Your symptoms have been linked to aspartame poisoning. It's in everything from light yogurt to vitamins. If you do, consider stopping for at least 3 weeks, maybe as much as 2 months, and see if your symptoms improve.
