I did see an ENT. He wasn't sure what the cause was. I'm scheduled for a hearing test.
Hello,
This constant ringing that you are having in your ears is called tinnitus. Tinnitus can arise in any of the four sections of the ear: the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, and the brain.Causes of tinnitus include hearing loss due to advancing age,ear infections, wax in ears, ear trauma, loud noise exposure, meniere,s disease, acoustic neuroma and pulsatile tinnitus due to pregnancy, anemia (lack of blood cells), overactive thyroid,TMJ problems or tumors involving blood vessels near the ear.
It is very difficult to make a diagnosis without examination. So I feel that a consultation of an ENT specialist will be the best.Otoscopy and ear examination are required to confirm a diagnosis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.
