I’ll try to make this as short and concise as I can:
April 7th:
Husband was brought to the ER with a suspected TIA (sudden blurred spotty vision, weakness (bilaterally), slurred speech). They did blood work and a CT scan (which was normal) in the ER and released him with a referral to the Stroke Clinic.
April 8th
I took him back to the ER because he experience sudden (15-30 second) weakness in one hand and had an ongoing feeling of motion / slow vision like he was “on a boat”. That day they did a CT Angio which was normal and the ER doctor released him stating that they would see him in the stroke clinic. In the weeks that followed he has had a multitude of tests (echocardiogram, MRI, blood work, holter, etc) all with normal result.
Symptoms April 7th until April 24th:
Constant feeling that he can only equate to feeling like he is on a rocking boat. Not dizzy and no trouble with balance or any of the neurological exam tests. Eye focus delayed when moving head. Unable to function normally including not being able to drive or work (computer programmer) and also extremely fatigued.
April 25th until now:
Still slightly light headed and mildly has the “on a boat" feeling. Trouble focusing when reading computer screen or moving head. Open spaces with florescent lights seem to make symptoms worse. He is able to function but is still not feeling "normal". Also feels that his vision in his right eye seems worse then before (he wears glasses).
Neurologist said he isn’t sure why he’s having the continued symptoms but that it could have been a TIA or possibly a virus. ENT said he doesn't believe it's his ears etc and his hearing tests were normal.
Thanks.
