Seizure like shaking during sleep

I am a 24 year old mother of two  with type 2 diabetes, occasionally my fiancé will wake me or I'll wake up shaking uncontrollably. He will hold me still until it stops. My legs and feet are numb, but hurts afterwards. Can someone please explain what is happening to me??? It doesn't happen every night, but it happened twice tonight. I'm afraid to fall back asleep. Help please.

Hello~

You need to see a neurologist and have some tests run for epilepsy. Epilepsy can present itself in many forms, not just the grand mal seizures.

Also, a visit to the chiropractor may not be a bad idea either, if you have pinched nerves in your neck, they can cause all kinds of trouble, even into your legs, that is not to say you don't have pinched nerves in your lower back as well. I certainly would give them a try.
