Unbearible period pain and collapsing in the shower almost twice

My period for this month just started today and I was fine when I first woke up but as soon as I got in the shower the normal back pain I get every month started but it was bearible but it quickly escalated then half way threw my shower I got really light headed and fell to ground I'm not sure if I fainted but I was forced to get out of the shower or I would of collapsed/fainted again. Then I spen like 20 minutes going from the floor to the toilet to get some tylonal but mostly on the floor because I couldn't even stand the uncomfortable posision is strait on my stomach. My back is alright now but that's because I'm laying down I'm not even going to try standing right now I'll go for a nap first. Plus I'm scared if I stand I'll get light headed again and collapse/faint

Why do I get such bad lower back pain during my monthly last year for a while every month it was getting worse the pain this went on for 4-5 months then the pain kinda went away and when it was there was only mild hardly noticble but this time it came back worse then ever. Yes I've had it many times were I have to lay on the floor strait on my stomach because of the pain but it has never made me collapse/faint before.

It hurts so much I'm not even going to church this morning wich is a HUGE pet peive for me

What can be causing this unbearable pain during my monthly??? It's only ever on the first day
And why all of a sudden today is it making me collapse/faint I could/can tell I need something to eat to maybe stop the light headedness but it hurts to much to even think of going down stair

Why is this? Is there any way I can make it feel any better??? I'm not sure if this info is important but I am 16 and have had my period for 3 years and it is slighty all over the place (always late) a couple minus ago it was like 4 or 7 weeks late now usually it's a week or 2 late but it's never really regular and if it is it only is for a while

ooh I had mono also when I was your age. And it's funny bc I got it the day that I started my period, except for after I fell to sleep and woke back up I continued to vomit. (which is not normal for me.) I couldn't get out of bed for days. It felt like I had the flu, I couldn't eat ANYTHING. Then my glands in my neck swelled up so bad that my neck looked like it was the width of my head, we went to the ER. They swabbed my throat, told me I had mono, gave me anti-biotics and sent me home. I was out of school for weeks. It was terrible.

I have always had REALLY horrible period cramps and back aches as well. It starts about 20 min. after I start my period, I vomit/diarrhea and lash out in pain for about 6 hrs. or until I fall to sleep. Whenever I start my period, I get a trash can, blanket, glass of water, and lay on the couch and just wait for the pain to come, it's awful, and midol/tylenol none of that even puts a dent in the pain. I have always had to miss a day of school/work etc. since I was 9 because of this. I have never been to the Dr. for it because my mother has the same problem, her doctor told her that it had something to do with her level of hormones. I know that when I took birth control pills for a couple of years I had a completely normal period with hardly any pain at all. The pill will also help with your irregular cycles. If you have the diarrhea like I have, I recently discovered that taking something like Immodium actually helps with the cramping A LOT. I'm sorry, I know how bad this ***** =/

The only thing is my period is always late lately so I never really know when it's coming also the day befor I got my period and the first day I had a HUGE craving for milk I had to have like 5 small mugs befor I satisfied my craving even then my craving wasent settled I was just full as could be.

Also I think I have a cold of some sort been really really tired the last couple weeks and coughing none stop the past 4 days it's a dry cough though nothing comes up and if I don't cough it becomes almost hard to breath. I cough more right when I go to Ned and I start coughing so hard I see green lines at the edge of my vision the other night I was doubled over coughing for like 5-10 minutes. Everynight the coughing wakes me up. It's just a tickle in my throat nothing comes up and coughing only makes my throat hurt more by like I said if I don't cough it becomes hard to breath. What could this be??? My pastor today mentioned mono could it be that???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
What you have is dysmenorrhea. Severe pain before periods or during that time can be due to ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids. Many women suffer from it. You need to consult a gynecologist and rule out the cause. There are two kinds of cramping. Spasmodic cramping is caused by chemicals called prostaglandins. Generally your gynecologist will prescribe either contraceptive pills or some other tablets to overcome these symptoms. Congestive cramping causes the body to retain fluids and salt. For relief start avoiding wheat and dairy products, alcohol, caffeine, and refined sugar a day or two before the periods are due to begin. Hence it is important to get an appointment with a gynecologist to check this out. Take care!
