Feel sick alot and indigestion/heartburn every day

Hi I'm 29 years old I have one son he's 9 years old.  Other than to have my son I have never been in hospital overnight, never had an operation and have up until a few years ago been healthy.  A few years back I got a pain in my right side below my ribs that went into my back.  I found it very difficult to walk, sit, sleep this pain lasted for about two weeks and disappeared.  The following year I got this pain again and this time it lasted for about a week.  Doctors this and last time put it down to muscle pain.  I'm sorry but this didn't feel like muscle pain.  Last year in January the pain came back only this time it stayed all month with one or two days where it was mild or wasn't there.  Only for pain killers I don't think I would have slept however I would serioulsy think about not taking pain killers again as the few nights after I stopped taking them were not pleasant at all.  My doctor recommended a Ultra Sound and as there was a six/eight week waiting list by the time my scan came around the pain had gone and the scan was clear.  Again the doctors put it down to muscle pain.  A few years ago I suffered from alot of kidney infections if this means anything.  For the past few months I always feel sick (never get sick) and have really bad indigestion.  I have tried to cut down on the foods that they say give you indigestion but this hasn't worked so far.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Well there are a few possibilities. First, even though your gall bladder appeared ok on ultrasound, there is a possibility that a stone was missed either in the bile duct or mouth of the gall bladder. May be a CT scan should be done. Another possibility is liver infection. The third possibility is a stomach or duodenal ulcer causing severe acidity or ingestion. Also pancreas status should be checked by doing pancreatic enzymes.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Sorry to hear you are having problems.  It could be a whole lot of things.  I know you had an ultra sound but I wonder if it's gallbladder related.  I had this and the pain went into my back.  Off and on for a few months till I had a full blown attack and went to the hospital.  They did finally find it.  Maybe they can give you a cat scan.  That would scan your whole belly and then if nothing comes up you can thing maybe more of the  indigestion or muscle thing.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck.
