URQ discomfort - reoccurring! Help!

Hello! I am a 23 year old female suffering from reoccurring URQ discomfort (I'm not sure I'd call it pain because its a dull ache). It wraps around to my back.

Anyway - I first had the discomfort back in October, went to urgent care and was told I probably have gallbladder issues - I had an ultrasound and nothing showed up. I went back to the doctor who said it must be a kidney infection. I was treated for and took antibiotics for 2 weeks. As you can guess, the discomfort came back the second week in December (lasted for about 2 weeks). I saw a different doctor or did a transvaginal ultrasound - found nothing. Then she had me get a CT scan, found nothing. Doc then said it must be a pulled muscle and asked that I rest. I was feeling pretty good but now have another episode. I went to the doctor 3 days ago (3rd doctor) he said he thinks it's a pinched nerve - gave me a cortisone shot. Didn't help.

I do not notice a difference in the food I eat or what I drink. The onset seems so random. I am 5'3 120 pounds, active, healthy. The docs seem to have no clue what is going on with me. I am SOOO SOOO frustrated and after reading the thousands of posts online about the exact same issue it seems like we will never find an answer?

I've read a few places that these are the symptoms of shingles and Lyme disease - has anyone been tested?

This sounds like a gallbladder issue.  I know you said you had an US done, but have you had a HIDA Scan done?  This will tell you how the gallbladder is functioning.  I would recommend consulting a GI Specialist to help you sort this out.

Well shingles would have show up by now. However if you are a runner this may be the problem. Woman were not designed to run and running can and often affect structures in the lower back and belly.
You also may want to examine you love making. If you partner is large have him take it easy and see if that helps. You are a small woman and big sometimes can be a problem. He only needs to put about two inches in for both of you to enjoy this very special time together.
