hi there,i had gall bladder surgery this yr...i found that i got bad attacks if i ate cream and stuff high in fat..the doc told me 99 out of 100 people have gall stones..but its only 10 people will have bad pain with them...hopefully you wont have any probs...but if you do need surgery..dont worry its done by keyhole and it takes about 40mins..very quick....take care

No it is not necessary to remove it unless it is causing u a lot of discomfort. Gall stones will cause a aggravated gut if u eat very spicy foods or those high in fat. Stay away from those foods and you should be fine!
