OK I apologize this is going to be a long post. Please read before responding. My husband has been feeling really bad for 8 months. He has daily episodes, usually in the evening but can really be anytime. Never ate to healthy but always seemed healthy, pretty athletic. No medical issues previous to this, other then unexplained bleeding with stool for many years.
He gets extreme malaise, chest pain (not heart, in the xiphoid area), his stomach muscles twitch very strong, dizziness, left side of chest feels numb, shortness of breath, the chest bone in center makes a pop or crack noise when moving. A lot of doctors say its anxiety but it isn't. This started abruptly 8 months ago, not life changes, no traumatic incidents. Tried all types of anxiety/depression meds and been to therapy all with no help, although he and I believe its not anxiety and something is wrong.
So he has been to a cardiologist, had ekg, echo and stress, all perfectly fine. He had a very small nodule in one lung (5mm). They watched and it didn't grow. There is diabetes in his family but he was checked and checked his blood sugar and its ok. When this first started he lost 20lbs, slept a lot and had stomach issues. He went to the GI doctor, they did a colonoscopy and a endoscopy. They found a small duodenal ulcer. He stopped drinking and smoking and started eating healthier and taking Pepcid and Prilosec. He can feel the ulcer and it wasn't going away. Later he found out he had a pathogenic parasite called Entomoeba Histolytica. He was treated and some of his symptoms went away (like gained weight, stomach issues better, eyes clearer, rash went away). This was about 3 months ago. We were hoping that would be the issue and fx everything but it hasn't.
He still feels horrible every ingle day. He was tested for celiac and is fine. Tested for pheocromocytoma and is fine, Had a nueroligical test. So many things I cant think of, but no one is finding anything. What else should we be looking for? Thank you
