Hair Loss

I have had terrible hair loss lately.  I am female and have Graves disease.  But the hair loss is substantial and has left me with bare patches on my scalp.  What can be causing this?

The blood test results for my thyroid is a bit low and my Endo is doing nothing for it. This could be the cause of MY hair loss or it could be ovarian cysts, which I have.

Seriously Duchess, you should be treated for the Grave's disease. I would go see your doctor ASAP before the hair loss gets any worse.

increased hair loss is a usual symptom of Graves disease and hyperthyroidism, among other things.  Are you being treated for your graves disease?

Hi Duchess

Have you googled Grave's disease? Maybe the hair loss has something to do with the Grave's disease.

I have been suffering from hair loss since July of this year and I don't know why it is happening. You said that you have bare patches - I don't know if I have any - I am too afraid to look :-(
