Hand lump

I was lifting furniture early in day and did not hit my hand on anything. Several hours later, a hard lump appeared with bruising and swelling on top of hand behind knuckle of index finger. After applying ice, two days later swelling and bruising is fading but still have pea sized hard  lump on top of hand that hurts when pressed?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
This could be a ganglion or due to tendonitis. It can be due to trauma to the tendon or due to arthritis or maybe without a cause. In your case the effort of picking up furniture could have caused an injury. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
