Panic Attack?

Yesterday around 9:00 am I began to feel nauseous and my hands were shaking a little. Around 9:30 I felt like I couldnt breath, my heart was beating very fast, my blood pressure was really high, my thigh area and my feet felt numb, my hands were shaking rapidly, I felt like I was going to pass out, I couldnt stand without leaning against something because it felt like my legs stopped working and it felt like my whole insides were shaking. I started a new weight loss medication exactly one week prior to this episode. My mom believes I had a drug induced panic attack, but why would it just now happen when I have been taking it for a week with out any problems? Are there any other causes to this episode?

It's not a panic attack. It sounds like low blood sugar is a good possibility. Especially since some diet medications affect glucose levels. Go to the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) and read the side effects, or go to the drug store where you obtained the medication and INSIST on the "FDA INSERT". Do not be satisfied with the "condensed version" provided by the drugstore. In any event, go to the FDA site and file the form for potential drug side affects,  as well as contacting the prescribing physician.

Drugs can show side effects later on. I was on birth control pills for 4 years, and then I started having panic attacks for no reason. The doctor said it couldn't be the pills, but I wasn't on anything else, so I got off of them, and within three months the pills got out of my system, and I started to feel better. Talk to your doctor and do some of your own research on this weight loss pills you are taking. weight loss pills honestly don't even sound healthy to me, it's forcing your body to lose weight while your still eating what you want. I would make efforts to work out and eat healthier. good luck!
