Headaches

Hello! I have had a fairly complicated health history. Chronic migraines as long as I can remember which has caused pockets of proteins to be released within the brain. Always was told its never been a problem. Recently I've been having very different issues that has become a concern. When I'm laying completely vertical I am fine, however when I go to sit up or stand, I am overwhelmed with the worst throbbing pain in my whole scalp that wont go away until I lay back down. It started a couple months ago when my heart rate and blood pressure would elevate, but now its become randomly and lasts all day with a dull headache for a couple days after. As long as im laying down it doesn't happen at all. What is going on here?

Look into Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which is very difficult to diagnose.
You may have a variant of this.
Please do an online search and see if POTS description and some of its symptoms match your condition.

Take care

Make an appointment to see your doctor to arrange for you to get xrays done on your neck and spine as well as imaging of the brain if you have not had this done.

Problems in the cervical area of the spine may cause for blood not to flow properly into the brain.

You need also to get your blood pressure checked from time to time.  Blood pressure that is too high or too low can also cause headache problems.

With regard to migraine problems, these can be triggered off by stress as was well as certain foods.

Keeping a diary to find out your trigger foods so that you can avoid these will be very helpful.  The foods that are known to trigger off migraines are: coffee, red wine, cheese, chocolate, oranges.  Some people experience migraines from eating nuts.  Everyone is different, so what can set off your migraine does not mean that it will be a trigger for someone else.

Hope you find out the cause of your problem so that you can get the appropriate treatment.

Best wishes.
