Is this serious-or can it wait?

My husband is a twenty-six-year-old middle school teacher and when he came home on Friday after school he was pale, a bad headache, had clammy skin, body aches and chest congestion.
Since then it's only worsened: he can't breathe full breaths, he doesn't cough a lot but when he does he gets chest pains & usually clear mucus, but sometimes it's green. He's going back & forth between a fever of just over 100 and shaking chills where he can't seem to get warm.
He's tired but can't sleep at night-he fills the sheets with sweat and can't find a comfortable position and today he's too weak to do anything but occasionally walk to the bathroom.
He's drinking a lot of fluids and taking Advil, but when I tried to get him to eat some toast he quit halfway through complaining of light nausea-though thankfully he hasn't vomited.
Since it's a Sunday you can't make an appt anywhere until tomorrow morning and because he doesn't have insurance the nurse says he should just focus on taking care of his 'sinus problems'-considering nothing I told her had anything to do with his sinuses I can only assume that she didn't listen to a word I said after I stated we had no insurance.
We just need to know if he needs to go to the hospital now or if it can wait. We have 2 young children, too, so if it's pneumonia or something equally dangerous we want to make sure it doesn't spread in our household.

proudmama,  anytime someone can't breathe fully it's an emergency.

Is it merely hard for him to get full breaths,  or as you say in your post,   he actually CAN'T breathe fully?   Is the skin on his face gray?

Agreed with Jinju, even if it's just the flu or pneumonia, if it's as bad as you state get your husband to an emergency room.

It sounds like either Pneumonia or congestive heart failure. You may want to go to the hospital asap.
