Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Low Vit D and Vit B12 can both cause tingling, pain, fatigue etc. Low intrinsic factor in gut that hampers absorption of B12, pernicious anemia, parasites in the gut, diet poor in Vit B12, Crohn;s disease, IBS, or poor metabolism by liver are the causes behind it. Please consult a doctor to rule these out. Take a diet rich in Vit B12 which should include meat and animal products, cheese, such as beef, liver, salmon, cod, and eggs. Take B12 supplements and breakfast cereals fortified with vitamin B12. Finding the cause is important. Deficiency of Vit D can result from several causes such as: inadequate intake, inadequate exposure to sunlight, gut disorders such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, malabsorption syndromes and even gastric bypass that limit its absorption, and impaired conversion of vitamin D into active metabolites such as in liver or kidney disorders. Rarely this is a hereditary disorder.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
I feel so bad for you. Being pregnant is not the optimum time to be having all those strange symptoms. I would write down in a notepad everytime you experience any strange symptoms, the time, date and describe the symptoms themselves. Then I would show them to your doctor. As hard as it must be, I would try very hard to lessen the stress. Please take care of yourself and your baby by trying hard not to get over-stressed, I truly believe that stress makes everything much worse. I will be thinking of you and your baby. Sharon
