Help please!

Hi, since September from time to time I will get a pain just under my right ribcage and in my chest just out of the blue. The pain also spreads to my back making it hard to breathe and I guess it doesn't help I start to panic when this happens, then it gets so bad that it makes me throw up and usually that makes me feel better, but recently the pain has been so bad that even being sick doesn't help that much. I've been to the doctor and the hospital and they told me it's just panic attacks but this is them just guessing. If someone could help that would be great because this is getting me so down and I'm sick of being unwell.

Yes I too, have a pain under my sternum on my right side. I also have burping especially when I first get up. I feel the pain more when I am lying down. I do get pain in my right shoulder some times.

It does sound like gallbladder pain.  If it's the liver, then you would only feel it in that spot. But when it's the gallbladder, it often spreads to your back.

Hi do you get pain in your shoulder as well. I had this pain many moons ago in my right side, it was sort of in the chest area but under the rib, and went around the back. Sometimes i would get an ache in my shoulder too.

I was 26 with 2 young children living abroad. The doctor just kept saying it was a panic attack, and gave me valium. It lasted 2 years.

When i came home my dad took me to a private doctor as the pain was getting worse.

It turned out I had a huge gallstone in my gallbladder and by the time the private doctor saw me the bladder was in a real mess and I was rushed into hospital for major operation.

Dont be fobbed off with anxiety attack. I was sick too and had indigestion.

When you get an attack write in a journal what you were doing, eating etc ok.

I am not saying you have gallstones, but I too was fobbed off with anxiety and it turned out to be something other than that.
