Hernia Pain after operation

Hi I was wondering If I could ask your opinion about my situation.
I am a 24 yr old guy and live a healthy lifestyle.
Its a Hernia Scar not healing correctly. I'll attach a photo as Its to hard to explain, & is near my genitals.
I had the operation 5 years ago and it gives me pain in my right testicle at certain times.
When i get an erection, about every second time it hurts. In the testy and bottom of shaft.
Is this normal after the operation? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks & hope to hear from you soon!

Hi  doctornee medical and thanks for the reply also!
I have been told about nerve entrapment before but unaware of the other things mentioned.
What would the infection be from? As in from the operation?
As i said, i guess I will make a booking to see a Urologist.
What would I expect from a visit that my GP cannot do?
Anyway i appreciate the fast responses guys!!

Thanks for the reply COBOB. I was unsure if the pain was "normal".. I will go back to the Drs to make an appointment with a Urologist.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain post hernia repair could be due to recurrence, adhesions or nerve entrapment. Other than that it can also be infections like epididymitis and orchitis. A varicocele could have developed causing pain. Please consult an urologist and you may need to get semen and urine examined for infection. Take care!

I'd say this is not normal.  I'd think along the lines of an adhesion or some similar surgical complication.  A trip to the Urologist might be your next step.
