Crater on one tonsil

I noticed a bean shaped depression on my left tonsil. The tissue surrounding the depression is whiter than the rest of the tonsil.  It's strange because I haven't noticed it before and it's only one spot on the left tonsil.  You can see some small veins where the depression is.  The left tonsil is also slight larger than the right one.  None of the pictures I've seen online look like this. I'm worried. Is it normal?  What could this be?  Thank you so much I appreciate all feedback.
