child head trauma

My son had a very bad head trauma that had caused the plates of his skull to shift. He had a crooked face for almost 6 months before I decided to take matters out of the doctors hand and headed for the chiropractor.
He straightened the plates out and it aligned everything back up. But he still had swelling of head and forehead
headaches and dizzy spells on and off. something seems to jar this. He has developed a teeth grinding syndrome
could this be the problem? CAT scan seems to look o.k. by the doctors. He is now going to physical therapy
to be adjusted. The last episode of his was his forehead swelled like a symptom of meningitis, and he always
becomes silly and hypertension of talking a lot about all of his likes.I don't mind but it is telling me something.
The last episode of this was about 6 months ago. His plates started slipping again and this time he got a migrain
head ache. i took him to the doctors the following morning and he said his plates are slipping again.
What is going on? The head trauma was on both sides of his head above his ears, his head was caught in
a sliding mini van door, when he was 5 because he wanted to shut the door, and he got ahead of me.Could it be that maybe he's not draining too well or could this be all to do with tmj syndrome? The last time his head swelled
he was being watched by my aunt who didn't care that he was breathing in second hand smoke. this time with the head ache I kept measurements of his head and there was only less then a half an inch difference though out the day, and his forehead didn't well. After PT he was hyper and silly after about an hour, I'm wondering if the release of tension to the back of the skull didn't push on the brain stem? I can see he's getting better but will he always have this problem or will it deminish in time? He is almost at the top of his class with a 93 average and you can tell when the onset of a headache is coming on, his writing changes, dizzy spells come on he starts bumping into doorways etc.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The best thing to do would be to take him to an ENT specialist and get this examined. Yes, ear infections can also cause headaches. Teeth clenching and grinding in children can be due to TMJ, as part of sleep disorder, worms in stool or due to stress. Since there appears to be swelling in his head and other changes in him, as explained by you, consult a neurologist once. Take care!

with all that has happen to my poor little boy, I just noticed swelling behind his right ear
yesterday morning, and it went down 10 minutes later, He went to PT This Thursday and she said he may have an abscess. That's what it is i bet. You see when he was healing from his trauma, I remember how he complained about how his ears itched him. We were told they would, because they were healing and I remember him coming home  from school, and telling me that his ear itched him and he accidentally stuck his pencil in his ear to itch it and lost the led.I took him to the doctors and she couldn't see anything so I took him home and gave him a shower thinking if there was anything in there we could flush it out. It came out, but he's had problems with that ear since. I'm wondering if there might still be a bit left from that pencil. Boy was it swollen when I checked it out. It was scary. i hope that's all it is, and it can be drained or removed
